about us
Xis Sign was founded by a group of students learning Vietnamese Sign Language (VSL). In Vietnam, the number of VSL users is limited, making it harder for hearing people and the Deaf find a mutual communication tool. For Xis Sign, all languages, including non-verbal languages, represent cultures and the foundations of civilizations. By learning VSL or any other sign language, you'll contribute to the global efforts in promoting greater awareness of and sensitivity to the Deaf-Mute, deaf, and hard-of-hearing community. We strive to foster our love for VSL into the community and motivate more hearing people to take up sign language.

Xis Sign is proud to have SIX core members with strong social awareness
Hello everyone!
My name is Tram Tran, and I'm currently a high school senior in Hanoi, Vietnam. I'd self-learned ASL two years ago, but I've only started going to VSL classes this summer. Yet, it's more than enough for me to fell in love with this rich language.
For me, learning sign language is not the same as learning any vocal languages (I've learned Chinese and Spanish before). Rather, it's a long process of occupying yourself with essential knowledge about the culture and connecting with a community. How cool is that!?
Now that you've clicked the about us button to view all of my team's introductions, what are you waiting for?
Let's hop on the journey with Xis Sign!

Hi!
I'm Linh and I'm one of the four oldest members in the project. I've never thought I would learn sign language before because I don't personally know anyone in the Deaf community. Regardless, it took me less than a second to accept Tram's invitation to take a VSL class with her, marking the beginning of the close relationship between me and Xis Sign.
Being a VSL learner gave me another insight into the world. The Deaf community has different cultures from us although we live in the same community, the same country, and the same world. To be honest, communicating using only two hands and facial expressions is way cooler and more exciting than I initially thought.
In short, learning VSL is one of the best decision I've ever made!

Greeting! I'm also Linh, but people often refer to me as Hoa, meaning flower in Vietnamese.
Sign language is not only a combination of our hands, but it's also the utilization of our facial expressions and body gestures. If one more person learns sign language, there's one more person lends a hand in bridging the two communities: hearing and the Deaf.
Being a member of the Xis Sign community, I hope that you'll have the chance to enhance your knowledge about sign language and the Deaf.
Welcome to Xis Sign!

It's Moc here!
If I'm granted a wish, I would tell the Genie to make all human beings understand and empathize with each other via not only words, but also gestures and facial expressions. Since no one would help me make that wish come true, Xis Sign members and I would try our best to bring sign language closer to the hearing community in Vietnam.
Most importantly, would you please spare some of your time to follow @wehear.echoes and explore the website? After that, you will be able to understand why you should learn VSL!
Instead of a regular goodbye, here's my favorite quote<3
"Act as if everything you are doing is for social reforms because sooner or later, changes will come."

Hi, I’m Minh Chau!
I love chatting with people, and not just by one language (though I haven't learned more than 2 languages :). I also love to see and feel with my heart, so why not try learning this new language? Team Xis Sign has really bonded and laughed together a lot, and I hope you guys do too!
Enjoy your time on this website and go follow @wehear.echos right now!

Hello everyone, my name is Phuc.
As you may already know, I'm an extrovert, so communicating with other people isn’t difficult for me. However, ever since I realized that in our society there are people who are deaf, I have always wanted to talk and communicate with them. That’s why I decided to join the Xis Sign project and learn sign language. In the end, I found it very intriguing as I was able to learn how to express myself with gestures and emotions instead of words. Moreover, Xis Sign was established to help us gain new insights like I did and to share our experiences.
Finally, I hope you enjoy our posts on @wehear.echoes! Thank you!
